I MAN BATHER DROWNED. I (By IV'k'graph—Press Association.) PALMERSTOX XOUTH. Sunday. A resident of Palmerston Xorth, Mr. Thomas Lovejoy. a married man with two children, was drowned at the Fox ton Beach this afternoon. It is believed that lie had a seizure. "I was swimming near Mr. Lovejoy when suddenly he disappeared." said a companion. "I did not see him again. There was no time to call out the reel men." The body was washed ashore at fi.3o. Ail hour and a half after the fatality. Jean Trevallyn. aged 11. and Mr. Allan, aged 4.1. got into difficulties. A bather rescued the girl and surf club members brought Mr. Allan ashore bv means of a lifeline. Artificial respiration was necessary. In the morning two women who were unable to swim were carried beyond their depth on rubber rafts, but were rescued by bathers.
