BUTTER EXPORTS.

INCREASE THIS SEASON

TOTAL OF 46,432 TONS

Favourable weather for dairying lias resulted in an increase in production during the earlier part of the current season. Last your all-time records wei# established, but if con-ditions continue as good as they have been this year's output may be greater. From August 1 to the end of November 46,432 tone of butter were shipped from New Zealand ports, compared with 44,323 tons for the same period last year. Record production in September was largely responsible for the increase, as in October dairy returns fell off owing to dry weather. This is reflected in November shipments, for in that month only 9490 tons were exported, 2530 tons less than in November of lad year.

Cheese production has followed the same trend as butter, output for the four months ended November 30 amounting to °3.613 tons, an increase of 1876 tons over ■ iring. November exports were down 1725 on la«t year.

All the butter shipped over the period was consigned to Britain, except 804 tons which went to Honolulu, Panama, the West Indies and sundry other countries.
