Banks had rare quotations, with only three buying offers, for 1 Commercial of Australia at 16 11, New Zealanda (D Mortgage) at £18,', and | Unions at £0 5/. j Goldsbrougb, Morts improved. and buyers went to £1 13,'. sellers asking £1 13 6. In the coal section Westports had [sellers at the last sale price of £1 3/6, and !»\ estport-Stoektons (pref.) were firm, I with quotations from 5. Bto 6'. New Zea- | land Breweries remained weak and uncertain. In the miscellaneous group British Tobaccos gained 4d, to £2 10/, Broken Hill Proprietary eased a fraction, and Hume Pipes TCp steady. Electrolytic Zincs , seemed a little stronger, and other metal company shares, with the exception of r North Broken Hills, were a few* pence up. [Norths, however, after yesterday's dealings at £2 14 4. sold lOd down. (Sydney) were selling at € 1 •> later quoted Id either side, while New Zealands were wanted at £1 0 3, with sellers 7d above.
