WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE.
The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland BUr" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:—
Moderate to strong north-east to northerly winds. Weather fair at first and mild, but clouding over shortly and later rain developing. Seas rather rough on the east coast, slight to moderate on the west coast.
The weather in New Zealand is still controlled principally by an anticyclone of which the centre is to the east. This is, however, now beginning to move away and a fairly vigorous depression is advancing from the southern Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong northerlies. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, shortly clouding over; rain later. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas moderate to rather rough. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north-east, fresh; sea, moderate; weather, fine and clear, with scattered clouds; visibility, good; barometer, rising.
