DISPUTE SETTLED.
JAPANESE STEAMER SAILS. A two days' hold-up of cargo operations on the Japanese steamer Chifuku Maru ended on Saturday morning, when watersiders consented to work the vessel. Work ceased at noon on Wednesday when loading should have been commenced, and in the intervening time negotiations took place in Wellington regarding the suggested boycott of all Japanese goods and shipments for Japan. While the steamer was worked on Saturday, none of the materials, such as scrap metal and tallow, which may be used for the manufacture of munitions, was loaded, and the vessel sailed for Wellington late on Saturday afternoon,, leaving a quantity of her cargo behind.
