DUNEDIN TRACK.
A QUIET MORNING. ORTYX IN GOOD ORDER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. A strong south-easterly wind was blowing at Wingatui this morning, but otherwise conditions were good for traicing. There was, little fast work done, mosi of it being on the tan and plough tracks. Ortyx was going easily to run three furlongs in 4.5 2-s*. She has improved since racing at Ashburton last month, and despite her 101b penalty promises to be hard to beat in the McLean Stakes. Our Fal was going better thon Compensate a* the end of three furlongs in 41 2-&. Dissemble travelled fast over the fingt three of five furlongs in 1.10 4-5, but was easing up all the way down the straight. Last Link was going easily to finish on terms with Sunny Jean at the end of six furlongs in 1.32 1-5. Brilliant Boa ran three furlongs on the inside gram track in 36 2-ss. but was not under pressure over the final stages. A large number of horses were let off with from half pace to strong work.
