NEWSBOYS' STRIKE.

Settlement Reached in "Sun" Negotiations. SECOND DAY'S SCENES. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A settlement has beet reached between Associated Newspapers, Limited, proprietors of "The Sun," and the News Agents' Association, newsboy members of which on Thursday and yesterday refused to sell the paper in the city streets. It is announced tliat misunderstandings have now been cleared up to the satisfaction of both parties and that "Sun" publications will be on sfele forthwith. The second day of the boycott found no weakening on either side, with the result that the city again was practically without an afternoon paper. It was possible to buy the newspaper at "The Sun" office and at underground stations, where the vendors were under contract to continue selling, but the net sales fell to a fraction- of those of an ordinary day and the voices of the newsboys were conspicuous by their absence. Large bundles of "Suns" were set on fire by strikers immediately they were unloaded from a lorry in the suburb of Kogarah. A few bouts of fisticuffs took place between strikers and wouldbe volunteers. The news agents said "The Sun" management aimed at extending home delivery and imposed conditions which were regarded by them as intolerable and uneconomical.
