Remarriage in Cuba Following Divorce. NO RESPONSES, NO RING. (Received 9.30 a.m.) HAVANA, July 4. Count Covadonga, former heir to King Alfonso XIII. of Spain, who was divorced last year in New York by his Cuban wife, was remarried last night in a brief and simple civil ceremony. The bride, Marta Rocafort, aged 23, a former New York model, attended only by her father, descended the marble stairs of a suburban residence wearing a gown of silver lame, and joined Count Covadonga at a marble table, where the pair smiled at each other while a notary read the Marriage Act. No responses 'were uttered, and no ring presented. A band played "The Wedding March," after the " National Anthem, rendered in honour of Colonel Batista. Dictator of Cuba, who was among the 150 guests. The honeymoon will be spent in a country whose location has not been announced.
