LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
PROVINCIAL COMMITTEE. The provincial committee of the League of Mothers held their quarterly meeting in the Y.W.C.A. rooms yesterday afternoon. A discussion was held on the findings of the provincial conference held early in the n:onth. and in particular the policy of the league and its future activities were dealt with. Mrs. Utting was appointed to assist the provincial secretary, Mrs. F. W. Whyte, who has carried on the work alone for seven years.
Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Horsley were chosen to represent the league on Anzac day and to place a wreath on the Cenotaph. Mrs. S. O. English presided.
MOUNT ALBERT
The Mount Albert branch of the League of Mothers held its monthly meeting in the Presbyterian school hall. In the absence of Mr&. Turner, sen., the meeting was presided over by Mrs! Harvey Turner. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. E. Winston*:, who gave a most interesting account of her trip to Australia. Solos by Mesdames N. Utting and Harvey and a duet by Mrs. and Miss Pearce were much enjoyed. A motor car competition was won by Mesdames Cameron and Burke.
BELMONT-BAYSWATER,
The Belmont-Bayswater League of Mothers held its first meeting of the month in the Presbyterian Hall, Belmont. Mrs. W. Verran presiding. Three new members were welcomed. Mrs. Jacobs rendered two songs, accompanied by Mrs. Strong at the piano. Competitions were won by Mesdames Strong, Butcher, Chapman and Scott. Tea hostesses were Mesdames Drew, Gibbons, Carlile, West, Vos and Chapman.
