AUCKLAND JUNIOR SECTION THEIR EXCELLENCIES' VISIT. i Speaking at a reception by the junior section of the Royal Empire Society last evening the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, emphasised the great value of the Crown in the British Commonwealth of Nations and the stabilising effect of Great Britain in the peace of the world. His Excellency was accompanied by Lady Galway. Their Excellencies were received by Mr. G. F. Joseph, chairman of the junior section, after being met on their arrival by Mr. X. R. W. Thomas, secretary of the society, and Mr. D. Lock, secretary of the junior bection. A beautiful bouquet of red carnations and pompom dahlias, with native foliage, was presented to her Excellency by Madame A. Milburn. The other members of the junior committee were presented to his Excellency as were senior and junior members present. During the evening a programme of excellent vocal and musical items was presented by Miss Franchi-Lismar, a recent arrival from Australia, with Mr. B. Skeets as accompanist, Miss Patricia Boyle, Messrs. P. and I. Shepherd, Miss J. Cole and Miss J. McKean. A review of the great progress the junior division has made during the past year was given by Mr. Joseph, who stressed the prospects for further progress this year. The reception was in the Penwomen's Club, which was tastefully decorated with autumn flowers.
