INCORPORATES "N.Z. FARMER" The growing importance of the farming comm unity is reflected in tlie decision by New Zealand Newspapers. Ltd.. to publish a special weekly pa|»er for tlie man on the land, the "New Zealand Farmer Weekly." tlie first issue of which will appear on March 3. This new weekly agricultural paper — a sort of trade paper for the farmer— incorporates the old-established "New Zealand Farmer," formerly published monthly, which for over JVO years has provided an important community service, and also "The Smallholder," another monthly publication. The weekly paper will be sold by direct subscription, i.e., posted weekly, at XI per year, or (id per individual copy. The aim of the new paper is to present to the farmer all the news of the farming world, week by week, and covering the whole Dominion. At the same time there will be thoughtful articles and illustrations on every modern development, in the agricultural science, with s|>ecial reference to current farming practice in the Dominion. Sheep and wool will share with butter and cheese the primary position, buf other branches of farming, such as blood stock breeding and pedigrees, wheat, sheep dogs, pigs and horses will be fully covered, Grass culture, fertiliser problems*and forage crops will all have their place. Kvery section will be fully illustrated. F.ach week there will be a market review for the whole Dominion, with facts and figures of farm produce and stock of all kinds. A section is being devoted specially to country women, with cooking, fashion notes and the viewpoint on current matters. All* told, the "New Zealand Farmer Weekly" will adequately live up to its title, "the Dominion farm and home journal," and is certain to be popular and eagerly awaited each Wednesday.
