F. DAVIS' TEAM.
TWO FOR TE AROHA
KARL AND AIWAI
(J* ruin Our Own Correspondent.> WOOD VILM-:, Tuesday. Ihe W oodville two-year-old Geira, who \y'd* entered lor Te Aroha it* not to make the trip, her connections considering her harshly treated in being awarded 9.7. Despite the fact that her only two successes to date were in very poor juvenile company at Woodville in December, Geira in her recent engagements has been handicapped as one of t'he leading two-year-olds of the season. The Arausio filly has shown no pretensions to class whatever, and her future prospects do not look bright with the imposts that she is being asked to carry. The Woodville apprentice X. Caveney, who will be at Xe Aroha thie week, was riding well at the AVoodville meeting, where he piloted three winners, and was the leading horseman over the meeting. This lad appears to be one of the most promising of the yousger brigade of riders at present. F. Davis leaves to-morrow for Te Aroha with Karl and Aiwai. The three-year-old Karl, who is engaged in the "sprints, showed good form at Woodville. where he finished a close third in the Euahine Handicap, carrying 9.0. He will appreciate the drop in weight to 7.12 in the Waihou Handicap at Te Aroha on Saturday • The two-year-old Aiwai has done well since her double success at Wanganui last month. Both candidates will l>e ridden in their engagements by P. Atkins.
