VICTORY FOR FA TRY HILL. SANTA ANITA, February 23. The Santa Anita Derby yesterday was won by Fairy Hill after a thrilling battle down the straight with Military, Ptolemy and Brown Jade. There were 45,000 spectators, including many of the cinema colony. «# Bcri P tion w as 525 dollars, with 50,000 dollars added. The second horse received 10,000 dollars, third 5000 dollars and fourth 2500 dollars. The dis- ™ Tx a 8 mi,e and half a furlong. . Hu y ' 8 only in importance during the 53 days racing at the track to the Santa Anita Handicap, to be run next Saturday. The entry for the latter ,„ run over a mile and a quarter, J n ars ' aDt ? tbe added money 100,000 dollars, with 20,000 dollars for second, 10,000 for third and 5000 for fourth.
