FOREIGN MIGRANTS

ARRIVALS IN DOMINION. PARTY OF DALMATIANS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Further parties of foreign immigrants arrived in Wellington by the Maunganui. They comprised four German Jews and a large party of Dalmatians. The German migrants would say nothing of the conditions that had forced them to abandon the land of their birth, but the Dalmatians said they had come to New Zealand to "live." The wages in Dal-, matia had fallen by half and food was very dear. "When we heard there was a Labour Government here," said one of tkem, "we decided to come. Everyone at home is talking of war, but war is no good for the working people." The Dalmatian population of New Zealand numbers 3000.
