MORE FIREWORKS.

AT MEETING OF UNION. LOCAL BODY LABOURERS. There were further stormy scenes at a meeting of the Auckland and Suburban Local Bodies , Labourers and Related Trades Union in the Trades Hall last evening, when the proceedings, it is understood, were punctuated with cheering and booing. The meeting was for the purpose of transacting ordinary business, but as the agenda could not be completed proceedings were adjourned until Wednesday night next. One of the causes of dissatisfaction on the part of a section of the meeting, it is stated, was that the secretary, Mr. Bernard Clewe, had allegedly made a statement to the Press concerning a meeting on January 20, when stormy scenes culminated in the chairman, Mr. J. Sercombe, declaring the meeting closed after it had been in progress for about five minutes only. On that occasion pandemonium reigned for a brief period, and at one stage a member of the union was standing on the table in front of the chairman gesticulating wildly and shouting at other mraebers. The upshot of the disturbance was that Mr. Sercombe, the secretary, and a number of supporters left the hall. Questioned this morning concerning the proceedings last evening, Mr. Clews stated that he had nothing for publication apart from the fact that the meeting could not complete the business and had been adjourned until Wednesday night next.
