WOMAN VANISHES.
Evasion of Deportation to
New Zealand.
NO SEARCH TO BE MADE.

SYDNEY, this day. It reported that the woman from Auckland, who was provisionally allowed to land at Sydney from the Niagara on December 2ti and who should have been sent back to New Zealand by the Awatea, evaded the authorities, thus escaping deportation.
The immigration officials allowed the woman to leave the Niagara, on January 2, pending the departure of the Awatea. on condition that she remained in a young women's hostel near the city. She stayed there for some days and then disappeared.
No search is to be made by Customs or police officers for the woman.
Provided she does not become a charge on the community no action will be taken against her, "but should she seek assistance of any charitable organisation she will be taken into custody and returned to New Zealand.
