NEW MAGISTRATE PRESIDES. MR. ORR WALKER IN AUCKLAND. Prior to the commencement of this morning's short session of the Police Court, Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., who has succeeded Mr. F. K. Hunt on the Auckland bench, was warmly welcomed by both bar and police. "On behalf of the bar of this town I welcome Your Worship back to vour home town," said Mr. R. A. Singer. "We know Your Worship has had the utmost goodwill in every part of New Zealand where you have presided, and we all know we shall receive the utmost fairness and courtesy from you in Auckland. We trust that the satisfaction we will receive will be echoed in your own experience of this Court during the time you will preside over it."
Sub-Inspector J. Fox, on behalf of both the uniform and detective branches of the police force, welcomed Mr. Orr Walker and expressed the hope that his stay in Auckland would be both long and pleasant.
