LABOUR PARTY.

PRESENTATION TO MEMBER,

A largo number of friends gathered at St. Luke's Hall. Morningside, on Saturday to do honour to Mr. A. Richards, M.P., and Mrs. Richards prior to their going into recess for the holidays. The hall was tastefully decorated for tlie occasion by members of the social committee of the New Zealand I.si hour party (Mount Albert branch), under whose auspice* the function was held. Member* of the committee present wer. Mesdames .1. Day and F. I'aylor. Messrs. I). Mcl'alhim. X. Otway. J. Lincoln. .1. Day and F. Taylor. Mrs. .1. Day and Mr. 1). Day provided excellent music. Dancing was interspersed with songs from Mrs. H. Harvey and Mrs. X. Otway. The duties of master of ceremonies were capably handled by Mr. X. Otway. At an appropriate interval Mr. Richards was pre sentod with a silver hot water jut; as si token of the esteem in which he is held. Mrs. Richards was the recipient of two I beautiful bouquets presented by Jill .McCallum and Ms trie Lincoln.

In responding Mr. Richards voiced the appreciation of both Mrs. Richards and himself for the kindness shown to them. At the conclusion of the presentation three cheers were called for the Government and the Xational Labour movement. Among those present were: Mesdames J. l'ool, M. Thomas, H. Harvey. J. Lincoln. J. Kim, Mrs. Priaulx and Mrs. Hamshire.
