TUAKAU PIONEERS.
GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRATED. The golden wedding was celebrated yesterday of two well-known former residents of the Franklin and Raglan districts, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Crawford, who are now living at Tuakau. A reunion was held at the old homestead at Onewhero.
Mr. Crawford was born in Ltirgan, Ireland, and arrived in Auckland on the ship Dauntless in 18Go with liis parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Crawford. On December 14, 1880, he married the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. MeCullotigh, of Patumahoe. After living at Packington, Glenbrook, Puni, Onewhero, and Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Crawford retired to live in Tuakau in 1927.
Mr. Crawford has a long record of service on public bodies, having been a member of the former Maiiku Road Board and of the first licensing committee in Franklin. He has served for IS years on the Raglan County Council, and for 10 years on the Tuakau Town Board.
