JUVENILE CHOIR.

CHRISTMAS PARTY.

St. Johns school hall, Ponsonbv, presented an animated scene last evening when tiie Women's Guild entertained the juvenile choir sit a Christmas party. There were also present church officials j and friends. j artistically decorsited i with festoons of red and white streamers and balloons, and the platform with j native greenery and Dorothy Perkin . roses, which reflected great "credit on the decorators, Mesdames Harford, McGrath, R. Wade and Miss Ruby Hirst. The supper tables were gay \vith red and pink gerlieras, pink sweet peas and asparagus fern arranged bv Miss J. Wilson. The guests were received l>y Mrs. F. J. Handy, president, and Mrs. Geo. Smith, secretary of the guild, Mrs. Stoodley presenting the many coloured caps. Dur- | the evening Mrs. E. D. Cameron, leader of the choir, was presented with floral tributes from the choir and guild. A delightful programme was contributed by Mr. A. S. Broadrib (mouth I organ solo I. Mr. Bert Watson (humorous items) suul Misses Xola Howe and Anita Copeland (elocutionary items), the choir I (choruses), Tom Melxmnon (pianoforte solo). Lois Lawson (solos), Frank Hook j (recitation), and Gloria Boyd (tap dance), all of which were enjoyed by ! young and old. The success of the partv j was due in no small degree to Mr. Murj ray Jones and Mr. T. E. Price, who j organised the games. A Christmas supI per was served by the guild's afternoon committee. Mesdames Stoodley, Boag | and McLanachan.' The singing of "Auld ; Lang Syne" and the Xational Anthem 1 brought to a close a happy and memori able evening.
