CHRISTMAS PARTY.

Xearly two hundred guests assembled in the Amateur Operatic Society Hall on Tuesday evening when an enjoyable Christmas party was organised by the 3ocial committee of the staff of Turnbull and Jones, Ltd. The function, which is held annually, took" the form of a social and dance and a gift was distributed to each guest by Father Christmas. Glee singing and an amusing orchestral selection with vocal chorus were enjoyed, and a Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr. W. Collins. A humorous and entertaining play was presented by Misses E. and M. Pasc-oe. Miss E. MacWilliatn. and Messrs. O. Miles, S. Ewen and B. MacWilliam, and a delightfully cheerv and informal evening was brought to a" close by the serving of supper.
