W.C.T.U.

The Auckland district executive meeting of the \\ .C.T.U. was held this week in the Temperance Rooms, Upper. Queen Street. Miss Read presided and Miss G. McKenzie led the devotions. A temperance fact was given bv Mrs. Didham. The financial statement was presented by ilrs. Lewis and showed a good credit balance. A brief report of the Xew Zealand Jqjiiance Convention was given by Miss Appleby, giving the resolutions that had been adopted regarding drinking at dances, drink and motoring, and shorter hours for hotels. Miss C. M. McLay reported on the work among the Maoris.
