CARNIVAL DANCE.
FUNCTION AT OTAHTJHU. ■: i ■ The Passenger Transport Social Club's carnival dance, lield in the social hall of the company's garage at Otahuhu, was a fitting conclusion to the committee's activities during the season. The attendance easily surpassed all other functions, and dancing and a series of competitions made for a most enjoyable evening. The committee responsible for the organising was Messrs. V. Brown (president), R. F. Carter (vice-presi-dent), L. Meredith, F. Slinger, C. Kay j and N. Thomas. During the evening a special presentation was made by Mr. Carter to Mrs. Kirkliam, sen., the "mother of the club." Miss E. Barton and Mr. Meredith won the Monte Carlo prizes. Mr. F. Slinger made an efficient master of ceremonies. Among those present were: Mesdames A. Kirkham, sen., N. Kirkham, V. Brown, R. F. Carter, F. Slinger, C. Kay, N. .Thomas, R. Batty, A. Wyllie, M. Gray, Owens, Wakelin, L. Pheasant, Rona Myers, Leslie Allen, Thora Jackson,, W. Blockford, P. Piper, J. Batty, M. Baldwin, Pat Nicholson, Rita McConoehie, Margaret Mears, Rona McConochie, Daphne Jackson, Reo Wyllie, V. King, J. Edmonds, L. Kay, Coral Kay, Joy and" Rose Jenkins, E. Percival, Maisie Taylor, F. Simms, D. Douche and A. Grint.
