TEAM FROM QUEENSLAND ARRIVAL AUCKLAND JANUARY 11. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. It is probable tli.it a team of bowler* from Queensland will tour the Dominion during the present season, according to Mr. J. C. Redmond, a member of the Wellington Rowling Club, who returned from Sydney by the Awatea. The tour is being organised by the secretary of the Isis Club, and the players will come from the Wide Bay and Burnett districts, besides at least six members of Brisbane clubs. The proposed itinerary provides that the team will arrive m Auckland 011 January 11, and then tour both the North and South Islands, leaving Wellington on its return to Sydney on February 8. Craig, many were unable to attend. Play was suspended wlien members and visitors stood ill Hill Road in silence while the cortege passed. The president, Mr. T. W. Morris, welcomed the visitors on behalf of the club. Mr. A. C. Sexton, M.P.. paid a short visit, but was unable to address the gathering owing to effect-s of his recent accident in Wellington. Mr. Parker Ilill, representative of the Auckland Centre, congratulated the club on its increase of membership and prospects of an extra green. The Mangere Howling- Club held its official opening of the green on Saturday. Mr. H. Frieker, the president of the club, welcomed the visitors. Mr. I'etrie, M.P. lor Hauraki, said a few words. Mr. W. Tongue, representing the Auckland Centre, complimented the club on the fine appearance of the green, and also upon the substantial increase in tile club membership, there being 18 new meinbera bo far; also he wished them every success in the coming season.
