WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. > The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this "afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton: — Strong south-westerly winds, reaching gale force in places, but decreasing tomorrow. Weather cold and changeable, with occasional passing showers, but slowly improving. Seas rough to high en the west coast, and rather rough 011 the east. Though it lias risen somewhat, pressure is still low to the east of New Zealand. A very intense anti-cyclone covers _ eastern Australia and is advancing slowly eastwards. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day: The indications are for strong southwesterlies of gale force in places. Weather probably cold and changeable, with occasional showers. Barometer rising &eas moderate to ratlier rough. ° Hauraki Gulf Conditions. •The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day.— Wind west-south-west, fresh j sea rough,- weather cloudy and squally, with passing showers; visibility fair; barometer slowly rising.
