SCHOOL GRADING.

Advice was received from the Education Department at this morning's meeting, of the Auckland Education Board that for 1937 schools are to be graded on 95 per cent. of the a verage roll number for the period between September 7 and October 2. If a school is open for only half of any day, such a day is to be counted as a whule day for the purpose of the average. "This is the best system we have had yet, and a big step forward," said Mr. Dunlop. "During this period school roll numbers are at their peak, as Eianv children come to school who have been kept at home during the winter."
