September-November shipment sold at £26 12/(5; November-January and Decem-ber-February shipment quoted at £26 15/; January-March shipment, £27". New Zealand: Market quiet. Fair sold at £18 10/ to £18 15/. Apples.—Market slow. Current prices are:—Stunner, 5/ to 7/; Granny Smith, 9/ to 12/; Dougherty. 8/ to 12/6. Peas.—Maples: Market steady. Prices have slightly advanced for A grade Tasmania. September-October shipment sold at 58/; No. 1 New Zealand for AugustOctober shipment sold at 54/ to 54/6. Blues: A grade Tasmania for SeptemberOctober shipment sold at £11 15/. Large business has been done in Japanese and Dutch. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs. A. H. Turnbull and Company arc in receipt of a cable from their principals, Messrs. W. Weddel and Company, Limited, dated London, Ist inst., reading: Butter: Danish, 127/ per-ewt: New Zealand, salted, 118/; Australian, 117/. Cheese: New Zealand, white. 71/6 per cwt; coloured, 68/. Both markets quiet. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, September 1. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 8205 bales were offered and 0656 were sold. Also 2347 bales were sold privately. The market was firm at the opening day's levels for best descriptions, but average to inferior sorts, were irregular. Yorkshire and Germany again were the principal buyers, with good support from France. The Japanese did not operate. Greasy Merino sold to 19% d.
