MAH JONG PARTIES.

Mrs. Leith Napier, of Brooklyn Flats, was hostess yesterday afternoon for an enjoyable mah jong party, held in the private room of George Court and Sons' tearooms. The spring flowers used for decorative purposes were beautiful bloonfi of pink stocks and blue hyacinths. on the long tea table were bowls of fragrant baronia and double daffodils. The hostess received her guests in a black marocain, with white chiffon jabot, and latticed straw toque. Miss Jean Napier assisted her mother, and wore a smart tweed tailored suit, and hat with coloured quills.

Among those present were: Mrs. A. Napier, Mrs. C. Blomfield, Mrs. S. Waters, Mrs. V. Salek, Mrs. W. Chilcott, Mrs. P. McMinemin, Mrs. W. Sharp, Mrs. G. Aekins, Mrs. Tony Chapman, Mrs. J. B. O'Loghlen, Mrs. Alan Montgomery, Mrs. J. Hirst, Miss Marie Black, Miss L. Napier, Miss Dulcie Ross.

Miss Rita Taylor was hostess at a bridge and mah jong afternoon, at her home in Eemuera Road. The lounges and dining rooms were tastefully decorated with tones of gold. Amongst those present were: Misses Bobbie Marriner, Claire Danby, Margaret McArtliur, Mary Finlay, Dulcie Boucher, Betty Coe, Mollie Hyains, Molly Jackson, Maud Bailey, Sybil Stewart, Loris Chilwell, Barbara Sommerville, Joan Stewart, Betty Hodgson, Leslie Holbeche, Pat Wooten, Den Wooten, Joan Hodgson, Flora Chilwell, Joan Coakley, Gay Wilson, Vonnie Henderson, Gay Henderson, Margaret Kidd, Ruth Whitley and Joyce Sheath.
