DRUNK IN THEATRE.

LABOURER IMPRISONED. STARTED TO REMOVE CLOTHES. Realising that lie was drunk, Oswald Clarence Conrad Brahne, aged 30, a labourer, went into a city picture theatre on the evening of Thursday last to "sleep it off," so said Mr. Aekins, counsel for Brahne when the latter pleaded guilty in the Police Court this morning before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., to a charge of being disorderly while drunk and also to a charge of indecency. Sub-Inspector Fox said Brahne had gone into the theatre drunk and about 8.40 p.m. began to disrobe when an attendant approached. Brahne was sitting in the seat with only his shirt and boots on. Mr. Aekins said accused had been working 011 a farm and in coming to town had taken too much drink. If given the opportunity he would go hack to work immediately. On the charge of being disorderly while drunk accused was sentenced to 48 hours' imprisonment, while on the second charge sentence was deferred till September 2.
