HITLER SURPRISE.
CONCILIATING CATHOLICS? BERLIN, August 30. As an indication of the Nazis' desire to conciliate Roman Catholics, Herr Hitler intervened and suspended the trial of priests charged with currency offences. The action of the Leader-Chancellor is believed to have been due to the pastoral letter read in all the Catholic churches protesting against the antiCatholic measures in Germany and demanding a common front against Bolshevism.
