A MATTER OF IMPORTANCE.

. 'th reference to an article in Friday night's "Star" made by the Minister of Health, that larger families . should be encouraged, I should like to point out the importance of helping the children of the piesent day instead of thinking of the future. There are hundreds of children who during the last few years have had to go very short of necessary food. I have five children and can say that they have gone pretty short at times. Even now, with a regular wage coming in, I find it hard at times to make ends meet with the increased cost of living. Xo parents can do justice to their children under £5 per week, especially a, family of over three children. The ueclining birth rate is not to be wondered at in view of the hardship that parents have had to contend with. A MOTHER OF FIVE.
