LABOURER REMANDED.

FALSE PRETENCES CHARGE,

Making his second in the Police Court, James Baldwin, aged 41, a labourer, was this morning charged with attempting, on July 15, to obtain four motor tyres, valued at £25 17/, from Stanley 'Denby Coggan, by falsely representing that he was "S. Smith,' and that he liad been sent by J. Jones, Limited, to pick up the tyres, and by presenting an order form for the tyres, purporting to be signed by J. Jones, Ltd.

Senior Detective Hall obtained a further remand until July 30.

Accused, for whom Mr. A. YV inter appeared, was granted bail in one surety of £100.
