ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY.
ENJOYABLE SOCIAL HELD.
The monthly concert ana social of the Auckland St. Andrew's Society was held in the concert chamber of the Town Hall on Saturday evening. The president, Mr. David McLaren, accompanied by past-president Mr. J. W. Bissett, J.P., was piped into the liali and on to the dais by Pipe-Major D. Ferguson. After the National Anthem, the president, Mr. David McLaren, extended to all a hearty welcome. Dili the evening the fallowing artists contributed to the programme: Mrs. Rothery, "The Lass with the Delicate Air," "A Hebridean Folksong" and "The Second Minuet"; Messrs. Jack and -Allan, "Scottish Airs and Marches'" on concertina and piano accordion; Air. Jones (baritone), "The Road to Mandalay" and the Devonshire folksong, ''I'm Well Known Round Here"; Mr. Robert Peters (tenor), "The Rowan Tree" and "The Road to the Isles." Miss Lillian Braitlnvaite was the accompanist. A dramatic sketch in the Scots dialect, "Meg's Flat Feet," by the St. Andrew's Players, was then given by Mr. George G. Spicei, Miss Douglas, Mr. J. Galloway and Mrs. G. Spieer. A hearty vote of thanks to the artists was proposed by Mr. Bissett. Supper was then served by the ladies of the committee and the ladies' auxiliary, under the direction of Mrs. J. K. Black, J.P., assisted by Mesdames D. McLaren, J, W. Bissett, J. Lornle, W. McKain, G. Spicer, J. R. Middleton and Misses Douglas and Barbour.
