BOYCOTT OF GERMAN.
Strong Movement Growing In South Africa. GOVERNMENT CONCERNED. (Received 11.30 a.m.) CAPET.OWN, June 26. A boycott of German goods is being made, particularly by trade unions, and the Government is threatening action unless it is discontinued. The Johannesburg Town Council referred back to its finance committee a recommendation to accept a German tender. The Jewish ex-Mavor referred to "the savage state of affairs prevailing in Germany," and objected to the purchase of even one-farthing's worth from Germany. The boycott is nullifying tlie agreement whereby Germany is entitled to credit for £2,750,000 for raw materials, provided this credit is balanced by imports.
