LOWER RENTS SOUGHT.
WELLINGTON APPLICATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday Inquiries show that Wellington people are taking advantage of the provisions of the Fair Rents Act, 1930, enabling them to apply for a review of the rent charged for dwelling-houses. The applications that have come to hand are being dealt with as expeditiously as possible. Endeavours are being made to settle cases without reference to a magistrate, and it is anticipated that a big proportion will be disposed of in this way.
