CARD AFTERNOONS.

The Hillsboro' Croquet Club held a very successful bridge and 500 afternoon at the Farmers' Trading Company's tea room on Wednesday afternoon. The. president, Mrs. W. Wilkinson, received the guests and at the conclusion presented prizes to the following:—Bridge: Highest score, Mrs. Farrelly; hidden number, Mrs. Bray. Five hundred: Highest score, Mrs. Lenderyou; hidden number, Mrs. Dalbeth. . The players included Mcsdames W. Wilkinson, G. Hill, A. Callan, W. Rutherford, Berry, Hepworth, Laird, West, Allen, Cowell, L. Bray, Kirkwood, A, Burgess, Badeley, Buchanan, Mark,- E. Wight, C. Blakey, ,T. McLeay, L. Heard, F. Harrison, McCullough, Williams,' Easson, Fletcher, C. Brooke, W. McLeay, Whillans, Sanfprdj' Pollard, Mclvean, Lenderyou, Dalbeth, Mosley, A. Aitken, F. Eagles, T. An enjoyable bridge party, held at the Farmers' tearooms 011 Thursday,, was given by Mrs, Isemonger in aid of the Mount Albert branch of the Community Sunshine Association. Both contract and auction bridge were played, the winners of the contract bridge being Mrs. Gauden for the highest number and Mrs. Hodge for the hidden number, and the winners of the auction bridge being Mrs. Smythe; the highest number, and Mrs. McEldowney, the hidden number. Mrs. Warnock was the winner of a large box of chocolates. At the conclusion of the afternoon Mrs. Isemonger handed to the president of the Mount Albert branch of the C.S.A., the sum of £10 ]/. •
