Lazzarini and D. Clyne, who made serious charges against the police in the Legislative Assembly, did not appear before the commission. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mackay, gave evidence in defence of police methods. He denied a statement made in Parliatnent to the effect that if the police did not return with a carload of betting offenders they were looked upon unfavourably.
