LAID TO REST.
BEATTY FUNERAL.
Impressive Ceremony in St. Paul's. ROYALTY IN PROOESSION. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 12 noon.) V ' LONDON, March 16. Spring sunshine marked the late Admiral of the Meet Earl Beatty's funeral to St. Paul's Cathedral. It was conducted on exactly the same lines as was Earl Jellicoe's in November. The streets were lined by crowds six deep. The Union Jack flown from H.M.S. Lion at the Battle of Jutland covered Lord Beatty's coffin, which was followed by three officers carrying cushions bearing his great array of decorations. Then came the chief mourners, behind whom the Dukes of York and Kent marched together, followed by representatives of foreign Governments and Services, also by large contingents of the three British Services. Mr. S. M. Bruce (Australia) and Sir James Parr (New Zealand) represented their Governments, and Commander Leitch and Rear-Admiral Wells the Australian and New Zealand navies respectively.
The palKbearers were Admirals of the Fleet Sir Henry Oliver, Sir Osmond de Brock, Sir Roger Keyes, Sir Reginald Tyrwhitt and Sir Frederick Field; Admirals Sir Ernie Cliatfield, Sir William Goodenough and Sir Walter Cowan; Field-Marshal the Earl of Cavan and Marshal of the Royal Air Force Viscount Trenchard.
