EVEREST EXPEDITION.
PROGRESS OP PREPARATIONS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 16. A copyright message fom Mr. Hugh Rutt-ledge, leader of the Mount Everest expedition, to the Associated Press, has been received from Ivalimpong, India. It states: —
"Our transport, constituting 250 animals, each carrying 1601b of supplies and equipment, left yesterday. Major C. J. Morris, Mr. P. Wyn Harris, Mr. Eric Shipton and I will rejoin the main body to-day at Gangtok, whither Lieutenant W. R. Smijth-Windham has already gone to attend to the wireless equipment. The whole party hopes to leave there on Wednesday for Lachen and Gongrala."
