STORMS AGAIN.
SOUTH CANTERBURY DELUGE. FURTHER WHEAT LOSSES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, this day. After three days of brilliant sunshine South Canterbury experienced real wintry conditions during the week-end. Rain set in on Saturday evening and continued throughout the night and the greater part of yesterday. Up to 9 o'clock this morning the fall was 2.12 inches, bringing the rainfall during the present year to 13.37 inches, compared with 4.80 inches for the corresponding period of last year. The latest downfall will do much to complete the damage to wheat crops caused by the first rainfall. OTAGO WELL SOAKED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. At 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon a southerly storm, with heavy rain, swept Otago, continuing with brief intermissions till this morning, when there was little sign of an abatement. The rainfall at Duncdin for 40 hours was 3.17 inches, making 12 inches since the beginning of the year.
