DR. TURBOTT'S SERVICES.
HEADQUARTERS AT HAMILTON. (By Telegraph.— Uwn Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this clay. Dr. H. B. Turbott, medical officer of health at Gis.borne, will be transferred shortly to Hamilton, taking over control of the South Auckland and East Cape health district. Dr. Ellen Heycock, present school nicdical officer at Christchurch, is being transferred to Gisborne to work under Dr. Turbott's supervision. These cliangcs will enable Dr. Turbott, who has rendered distinctive service in connection with the health of the Maori people, to have under his direct supervision a very large proportion of the whole Maori population of the Dominion. He has an intimate knowledge of conditions in the East Cape district, which he will continue to visit periodically. Dr. Heycock holds the diploma of public health, and will exercise wider duties than those of a school medical officer, as under the direction of Dr. Turbott she will be responsible for the investigation and control of infectious diseases, the supervision of private hospitals and maternity and infant welfare.
