HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The Department of Agriculture lias received the following cablegram, dated December 14, from the Iligh Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— I Tallow.—Market quiet, but steady at' about last quotations. j Hemp.—Manila: Market quiet but steady, with values unchanged. Stocks_in the United Kingdom at December 1, 9512 bales, against 27,276 bales at the same time last year. Sisal: ■ Market continues firm. January-March shipment sold at £28. New Zealand: Market quiet and nominal. No first-hand sales reported. Stocks in London at December 1, 41 tons, against six tons at the same time last year. Eggs.—Market steady. "Home ' supplies larger. English, national pack, 18/ to 21/6; English, ordinary pack, 18/6 to 20/; Danish, 12/ to 17/6; "Australian, 10/ ( 6 to 13/6; New Zealand, Middlesex shipment in good condition, cleared at from 10/9 to 13/6. j DAIRY PRODUCE. j Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Company have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Trengrouse and Nathan, Tooley Street, dated December 16: —Butter: 87/ to 88/ per cwt. Quiet. Cheese: White, 53/ to 54/ per cwt; coloured, 57/ to 58/. Firm.
