TWO SERIOUSLY HURT.
ANOTHER CROSSING SMASH. MAN AND BOY IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, thie day. A man and a boy were seriously injured when the sedan motor car in which they were riding was struck by a locomotive at the Seddon Road railway crossing at six o'clock last evening. The victims, who were taken by a St. John ambulance to the Waikato Hospital, were:— Mr. Lancelot Peirse, aged 54, commercial traveller, of Wanganui; head injuries; condition very serious. John McElroy, aged 13, son of Mr. Henry McElroy, 25, Seddon Road, Hamilton; broken left leg and shock; condition serious. The car wae going north, and the locomotive, one of the K type, had been connected to the Auckland-Hamilton excursion train and was returning to Hamilton station from Fraiiktofa to rjconnect with the train, travelling at a slow speed. The locomotive strck the car broadside on, just behind the front seat, the vehicle being carried along on the cow-catcher for two chains before it was thrown to the side of the track. A terrier which was in the car was killed.
