ONE MAN KILLED.
ANOTHER IN HOSPITAL. INTOXICATION CHARGE FOLLOWS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. A fatal accident occurred near Waitati yesterday when a motor cycle came into violent collision with a car. The rider of the cycle, Mr. William Eric Johnetone, aged 18, of Dunedin, suffered extensive injuries, including a compound fracture of the ekull, a fractured jaw and compound fractures of the leg. He died within a few hours. Mr. Edward Hayward, aged 19, who was riding on the pillion seat, also received injuries, necessitating his removal to hospital, but his condition ie not serious. , , . As a sequel to the fatality, the driver of the car, Leslie Raymond West, aged 29 appeared in the Police Court this morning charged that while in a state of intoxication by act or omission he caused the death of W. E. Johnstonc, and also with driving without a license. , He was remanded without bail.
