MOTOR CYCLE NOTES.
JOHN BULL TRIAL. ROUTE SELECTED. A course of 530 miles has been selected by the committee of tlie Auckland Motor Cycle Club for the John Bull 24-hour trial to be held during Labour Day week-end. Riders will start from the club room at 9.30 p.m. 011 Saturday, October 20, and finish there at the same time the following day. Entries, of which a large number have already been received, close next week. The route will be: Auckland, Mammarua, Taluina, Morrinsville (halt for half 1111 hour), Hamilton, Glen Murray, Auckland (halt for one hour), Kaukapakapa, Mangawai, Whangarei (halt for one hour), Dargaville, Wellsford, Silverdale, Kumcu, Auckland. Riders will be required to maintain an average speed of 2.3 m.p.h. and to observe all traffic signals. No timepieces or speedometers will be allowed. Secret checks will be posted at frequent intervals along the route to penalise riders guilty of breaches of these conditions. Bradley Recovered. A complete recovery has been made by A. Bradley, of Nelson, who suffered a severe head injury when lie crashed while practising for the international tourist trophy races In the Isie of Man, in which he was to ride as the representative of New Zealand. After spending several weeks in hospital in the Isle of Mau, where an operation was performed, he went to London for special treatment, and left there 011 his way home by the Rangitiki, which is due at Auckland 011 October 23. The Auckland Motor Cycle Club will welcome liim back at the annual smoke concert, which is to be held in the club rooms 011 the evening of the day of his arrival here. Speed Tests. Speed tests are to be held by the Auckland Motor Cycle Club at Muriwai Beach on November 10, when local riders will have an opportunity of attacking existing speed records under official supervision, according to the requirements of the Auto Cycle Union. Site For Climb. Several possible sites for the holding of a liill climb have been inspected by the committee of the Auckland Motor
Cycle Club during the past week, but as yet the grass 011 all oI them is too slippery to be ridden 011. The contest will probably bo held on the American style, a hill being se-.ecicu up which no motor cycle can climb to the top, the winner being the one who goes highest.
