AUCKLAND AMATEUR CENTRE FOURTH ANNUAL MEETING. Last evening the Auckland Amateur I Cycling Centre held its fourth annual J meeting, when the Auckland Ladies', Auckland, Beach Haven, Lynndale, Taka- ' puna, Papatoetoe and Manukau Clubs t were represented. The annual report showed a marked - 1 advance 011 the previous season's activities. The season ended with a total 1 of 375 registered riders, made up as ( follows: Manukau Club, 93; Papatoetoe, ] 63; Lynndale, 55; Auckland, 39; Takj- ( puna, 31; Hamilton, 28; Rotorua, 17; t Beach Haven, 10; Auckland Ladies', 15; i Horotiu, 11; and the Waikato Club with f 7, i The provincial championship titles were 1 won as follow:-—A. G. Patrick, of the 3 Manukau Club, won all four track titles, ;;nd G. W. Holland, of the Manukau Club, won the junior tandem paced mile title. At the Dominion championships he'd at the Petone Oval on March 23, A. G. Patrick, C. Gooder, M. P. Byrnes and L. f H. Dwight competed. Byrnes had the mis* • fortune to crash heavily when leading > on the final lap of the sprint title event, , Gooder finished second in the unpaeed ; kilometre with a time of 2.21 3-5, while ( Patrick finished third in the human paced ■ 10 miles race. The road racing phase of the sport attracted the most interest and big entries characterised all the open races. Hie season started with a 22-miler in May and concluded with the 100-miler in October. The latter event carried North Island and Auckland provincial honours, both of which were won by the Manukau Club rider L. M. Nicholson off 10.0, when he clocked the course in the record time or 4h 44m 2s. The junior road championship, decided under unpaeed conditions over a 13 miles course, was won by J. H. Gulbanks, of the Manukau Club. The scratch racing events decided during the track season helped considerably to improve the standard of racing. The Manukau Club won the series with 5G points, with Papatoetoe next with 47, then Auckland, 32, and Lynndale 12 points. Officers elected for the 1935-36 season: President, Mr. H. C. Webster; vicepresidents, Messrs. F. J. Casey and R. MacLeod; secretary, Mr. L. Wilson; treasurer, Mr. H. C. Webster; auditor, Mr. K. MacLeod; handicapper and starter, Mr, J. D. Auckram; referee, Mr. R. G. Foubister; machine inspector, Mr. A. W. Gooder; chief judge, Mr. R. G Foubister; time-keeper, Mr. E. S. Kohn; Press steward, Mr. L. Wilson; delegates to the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association, Messrs. H. _ Amos and H. Goodwin; executive committee, Messrs. K. McM. Linn, J. G. Culpan, A. Gunn, 11. C. Webster, A. W. Gooder, L. Wilson and Miss V. E. Baird. It was decided to forward the following remits to the association: — That all Dominion track championship meetings must be decided on permanently surfaced, hard banked tracks, and that rule 56 respecting trophies have the words "one month" substituted for the words "one week." The Auckland A.A. and Cycle Club was granted permission for the Labour Day meeting at the Auckland Domain, but was advised to forward applications in earlier for future meetings. It was decided to apply to the association for the North Island junior road championship title.
