BOWLING.
GOLDFIELDS CENTRE. At the annual meeting of the Goldfields Bowling Centre it was decided that the Clothier Shield competition should be n one-round com petition between the various affiliated clubs, the Waikino and Hikutaia Clubs to play aa one club. There was considerable discussion on the advisability of breaking away from the South Auckland Centre. The majority of the delegates agreed that it would be better to have a smaller centre, and they were instructed to place the suggestion before tlieir clubs. It was decided to recommend to the South Auckland Bowling Centre that the singles championship be decided on the two-life system. Officers elected: President, Mr. ,T. A. Clothier; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. J. Towers (patron) and' W. S .'th (Thames) ; executive, the president, ihe secretary and Mr. Maingay (Tc Ai-olia) ; secretary, Mr. H. Wood (Te •' x>l;a).
