Yesterday's drying wind had the effect of hardening the Wingaiui tracks, and for last work this morning the outside of the course proper, with the trestles wide out, was available. The two-year-olds were allowed to gallop three feet out from the rails. Silver Slipper was only cantered, and Hororata and Tail Light, from the same stable, were let off with similar tasks. Grand Finale was going well within himself all the way over half a mile on the course proper in Gl. l-ss. Sungem ran six furlongs, the last half-mile in 595. i'aladino was holding bis own with Great Empire at the end of half a mile run in 545. Toreador appeared to be moving short in a sprint over three furlongs on the tan in 38s. Lady Kate and the Guineas candidate, Waltham, finished about equal at the end of six furlongs in 1.23 3-5, but both were inclined to stop over the last half-furloug. Twilight Song, looking very light, was sprinted three furlongs on the tan in 3Ss. Quietly was let off with cantering exercise. .Worship was going better over the last two furlongs of seven than Redolent, though they finished on even terms in 1.39 1-5. Drink Up beat Invudor easily over half a mile in 54 3-ss. Tizzy and Kemal Pasha finished on terms at the end of five furlongs in 1.8. Itnmo easily accounted for Salmo Salar at the end of "six furlongs in 1.22 1-5. Darien was tan good for Sunny Jean over five furlongs in 1.10, but was*showing signs of lameness on pulling up. Joy Boa and Brav. Lass finished together after running foiir furlongs on the tan in 55 4-ss. Chrysolog. v jumped four hurdles well. He hud plcn vy of pace on at all but the last hurdle and was getting awav much faster on landing Royai Pat and Link Up finished together at the end of six furlongs in 1.25 3y>. Viking was let off with long, slow won;. He looks all the better for his good gallop iust Saturday. Linquist also was let oil with long, slow work. Wonderful and Superex were companions in a spin over six furlongs, but were not out on a timemaking mission. Green Goa beat . ' toon over three furlongs on the tan in io 3-ss. Made Money and Songbird finished together at the end of five furlongs on til'' tan in 1.5. New Note took 1.7 to run five furlongs on the same track, but was easing up over the last, half furlong. The two-year-olds, Asset and Doubic Gift ran half a mile from a standing stati in 52 l-ss: Asset began the smarter and led to the turn into the straight, where lie ran very wide and Double Gift, fiiiiSiiing straight,. just got up to win by .1 head.
