FANMTJItE BOATING CLUB,

ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-fourth annual mooting of the Paniuure Boating Club was held on Wednesday evening at the otiice of Messrs. Wilson and Kothery, Panmurc, the commodore, Mr. S. Wilson, presiding over an attendance of 40 members, including a number of ladies. The chairman, reviewing the past season, said that 11 races were held, including the club's regatta, l'or which good entries were received. The clubhouse, which was destroyed by lire, had been rebuilt at a cost of £200, and was now in use and was proving a great convenience. All the lockers were let and the accommodation for * a dy members was appreciated. Their thanks were duo to Mr. S. liamlin, who, in addition to his duties as honorary secretary and treasurer, was also starter, timekeeper and judge. Several new members who were boat owners had joined the club, and the prospects for tlie coming season were good. The clubhouse had been paid for, and theie was a credit balance on the year's work. The following officers were elected tor the coming season:—Patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan; president* Mr. M. Harding; commodore, Mr. S. Wilson; vice-commodore, Mr. V. Hill; rear-commodore, Mr. T. Kilgour; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. S. iiamlin; handicapper, Mr. T. A. Marshall; committee, Misses G. and E. Addis, Messrs. Geo. Vause, D. Vause, h. Wilkinson, J. A. and 15. G. Maxwell, J. Trail, and Is. Kershaw; hon. solicitor, Mr. 11. Urquhart; trustees, Messrs. S. Wilson, S. Hamlin, and A. Tobin; reporter, Mr. Geo. Vause; hon. auditor, Air. L. Knight; clubhouse captain, Mr. J. Trail.

YACHTSMAN HONOUHED.

PRESENTATION TO MR. F. W. JEFFERS. Officers and members of tlio Ponsonby Cruising Club met last Saturday evening in the clubhouse to show their appreciation of the work of Mr. Fred. W. .letters, who has retired from the ofiice of commodore alter three years' service. In the absence of tlie commodore, Mr. .T. Worthington, the vice-patron, Mr. It. Woodside, presided. lie was supported by the vice-commodore, Mr. W. llerdegen, rearcommodore, Mr. E. Gardiner, Messrs. 11. It Arthur, R. Murphy, J. W. Willcocks, and about 40 members, the visitors including the commodores of the Akarana, Victoria and Tamaki Clubs. The chairman, when proposing the toast of their guest, said that Mr. Jeffers had done u great deal since he joined the club to further its interests, both afloat and ashore. His boat was always at their service, and, with the assistance of Mrs. and Miss Jeffers, they had made a success of the club's social functions. Although retiring from office, he was pleased to say that they would not lose his services altogether, as Air. Jeffers had accepted a position as ex-oflicio member of the committee. By his genial manner and constant efforts on behalf of the club he had won their respect and good will, and he had pleasure in asking Mr. Jeffers to accept a tokeu of their esteem. Mr. Jeffers was presented with a large chiming clock by Messrs. W. llerdegen and J. MeWliirter, to the accompaniment of musical honours. Mr. Jeffers, in acknowledging the gift, said all he had done was a labour of love, and he tincerely thanked the members for their very handsome gift ami kind appreciation of his services.

YACHT NGATAKI.

ARRIVAL AT PAPEETE. The many friends of Mr. J. W. Wrav and crcw of the yacht Ngataki will be pleased to learn that they arrived at Fai>cele, Tahiti, on Wednesday, and reported by cable to "Speedwell" as "all well." Ngataki left Auckland on August 8, and called at the Harrier. From there she went to Sunday It-land and on to Papeete.
