OFFENCES ADMITTED.
LABOURER FOR SENTENCE
A-youthful burglar, Charles Arthur Hansen, labourer, aged 22, who was recently arrested by Detective J. Hunt, appeared in the Police Court to-day, when he admitted breaking and enteririg;:thfee dwellings, by day and stealing a variety of valuable articles.
Hansen was' Charged, with breaking and entering on July 30 the house of Thomas Bate, Great North Koad, Avondale, and stealing a suitcase and clothing valued at i 4 2/10; on August 1, breaking and entering the house of Mrs. Olga McNaught, Devonport, and stealing articles valued at £14 5/; on August 20, with Breaking and entering the house of A. Wv Bryan):, Ring Terrace, Ponsonby, and stealing jewellery and a pair of iield glasses of a total value of £17 5/; and, on August 17, with attempting to break and enter the house of F. W. Gamble, Oak Avenue, Mount Albert, with intent to commit a crime.
Detective Hunt said lie interviewed Hansen on September 3 when he admit-ted-all the offences; Some of the jewellery i had been sold to a gold buyer, while accused sold a pair of field glasses to.a pawnbroker for £2 10/. Witness found.i,wo suitcases in accused's room and .recovered much of the stolen property. ■ Hansen pleaded guilty to all charges and- was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
